The “Privatization Council”, the primary decision and policy-maker on Privatization, has been established by virtue of the Privatization Law no. 25 for the year 2000.
Tasks and responsibilities:
The Council is entrusted with the following main responsibilities and tasks:

Formulates the general policies on privatization.
•
Identifies the candidate enterprises for privatization.
•
Approves restructuring and privatization transactions.
•
Retains qualified consulting firms to conduct studies on restructuring and privatization of enterprises.
•
Recommends to the Cabinet the legal measures necessary to establish regulatory bodies for privatized sectors.
